Turnagain Arm

The road to the Kenai Peninsula follows the shore of the estuary,Turnagain Arm.  Thin sunlight brightens the water a bit, but low clouds lurk at the base of the Chugach Mountains and the glaciers.

  1. wow, those clouds are really low. So does the name Turnagain Arm come from the words "turn again"? Is it said the same way?

  2. It's pronounced like "turn again" with no pause between words. I don't know why the name, but the road along side of it has a lot of curves in it. It does turn, and then turn again.
